How does it work?

The Web control panel is a convenient online service for generating license and renewal codes and tracking the usage of licenses. The Web panel helps to prevent unauthorized access to your application and makes its distribution secure. The most important parts of the Web panel are creating the license and renewal codes and automatic code generation.

  1. Creating the license codes.

    It is very easy to create new license codes using the Web panel interface. You only need to perform several simple actions:

      • Go to License->Create page.
      • Enter the corresponding project name.
      • Choose the predefined license present or click the plus icon in order to set the license configuration data:
        • Preset name.
        • License mode: specifies whether the codes are used for protection (live) or testing.
        • Project name.
        • License type: specifies a software version to be distributed under this license i.e. Full, Lite, or Pro.
        • License expiration: specifies various options for setting the license expiration period i.e. unlimited, expiring after the registration or license creation and expiring on a certain date.
        • Support expiration: the support period allows the user to work with the previous software versions while the new ones become unavailable. The settings to the support expiration period are similar to those of the license expiration period. Additionally, you can set up the version range that can be used during the support period.
        • Freeze period: when this option is enabled the software can be accessed after a certain period of time.
        • Computer limit: sets the maximal amount of the computers on which the protected software can be installed under this license.
        • Flag specifying whether the license should be validated on a server within a certain period of time.
        • Flag specifying whether the letter should be sent to the customer.
        • The automatic code blocking options: specify if the code is blocked after being used on a certain number of computers within a certain period of time. This prevents the software from excessive use.

    After that, click the Create button in order to create the preset.

    • Enter the required product price and the number of codes.
    • Enter the customer data: e-mail, company, phone, and address.
    • Click the Create button in order to complete the new license creation.
    • The new license codes are added to the code database.
    • The license and customer information page can be viewed by clicking a specific code.
    • Note that you need to send the code letter to the customer manually. Apply the code generators in order to send the letter to the customer automatically using a payment service.

  2. Automatic code creation.

    Generators allow you to create the license codes and automatically send them to customers using the connection to the corresponding payment services.

    • Open the License->Automation->Create page.
    • Enter the corresponding project name and license preset.
    • Enter the generator name.
    • Set the corresponding payment service to be connected to. The code is sent to the customer automatically through the service.
    • Enter the generator location. The location specifies our license server to be used for storing the generator.
    • Click the Create button to complete the generator creation.

  3. Renewing the license.

    The process of renewing the license is similar to that of creating the license. The only difference is that you cannot register a new software copy under the renewal license. The renewal license allows the customer to continue using the previously purchased software copy.
